About Bicester Bowls Club
History
Bicester Bowls club was founded in 1862, yet historical records show that the game was being played as early as the 16th century, on the lawn of the old place yard, where the library now stands. The club originally played on a green behind the King's Head on London Road, but in 1951 it venue changed. The club now used its present site ever since it was denated by the Town Council following their gift of The Garth from the late Mrs Keith-Faulkner. The barn on the site was codnverted into the present day clubhouse, which includes a varity of facilities over the years it has developed into a small friendly club that attracts all ages.
Come and 'have a go' at our Open Day in May. Coaching is on Mondays at 6.00 p.m. and the Clubhouse is open most evenings during the season May to September.
